The average lifespan of an aircraft is around 20 years, after which many of these machines end up in deserts, waiting to be either scrapped or used as spare parts for other aircraft. This period of 20 years can be compared to a person's growth from a child to an adult.
Aviationtag(link), a German upcycling company, has been making aircraft skin tags from retired aircraft since 2015, providing an opportunity to own a piece of history that has flown all over the world.
Each tag is unique, featuring graphics based on the aircraft's body paint, and comes with information such as the aircraft model number, its first and last flight, and the limited edition number. The history of the aircraft and the experience of owning a piece of it can be further elevated through the repackaging project.
